Chones, Moody Named to All-ACC Team

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Associated Press announced today, Tuesday, March 4, the All-ACC team honorees. NC State was recognized with two players among the 21 chosen to the first, second, third and honorable mention teams. Redshirt-junior Kaayla Chones was named to the second team, while senior Carisse Moody was chosen as an honorable mention.
Chones led the Wolfpack women all season in points and rebounds and averaged 14.2 ppg and 7.9 rpg. She also led the ACC in all games in defensive rebounds with 6.19 rpg. The center reached the 1,000 career-points milestone, while recording eight double-doubles this season, bringing her total to 21 in her three seasons with NC State. Chones now has three ACC honors to her name after her sophomore selection as a second team All-ACC and second team all-ACC Tournament team member.
Moody finished the season as one of two players averaging double figures in scoring, behind Chones. She averaged 10.7 ppg and 4.1 rpg. With the honor, the forward brings her total ACC awards collection to three, adding to her honorable mention as a junior and second team All-ACC award as a sophomore. Moody joined Chones as the 22nd player to record more than 1,000 career points.
