Six Wolfpack Gymnasts Honored by the EAGL

Durham, N.H. - Six NC State gymnasts were named to the All-EAGL first and second teams announced by EAGL officials at the conference's annual banquet Friday night at New Hampshire. The Wolfpack, 16-5 heading into the EAGL Championships, had four members on the various first teams, and also four on the second teams.
NC State placed two gymnast on the EAGL's first-team on bars, senior Marlyn Madey and sophomore Kelley Kello. Madey has won seven titles on bars this season, including five of the last six meets. Madey has notched a personal-best of 9.925 twice as well. Kello has won bars four times this year, with two of the wins coming in the last three meets. Kello also scored a personal-best 9.925 earlier in the year.
Junior Molly Pennington was named to the first-team on vault. Pennington has been NC State's top vaulter this season, scoring at least a 9.8 in seven straight meets. Pennington has four vault titles this season, and has scored over a 9.9 three times.
Freshman Kylah Bachman received first-team honors on beam. Bachman has one beam title to her credit this season, when she scored a personal-best 9.875 against George Washington and Kent State. Bachman has finished no lower then fourth in the past three meets on beam, and has score at least a 9.825 each time.
Sophomore Cori Goldstein was named second-team on both beam and floor. Competing in both events all season, Goldstein has won two floor titles and two beam titles this season. She currently has a string of seven straight meets with at least a 9.8 on floor, with a season high 9.95 coming in the Governor's Cup. Last year, Goldstein was also named second-team on floor.
Junior Leah Sabo was a second-team selection on the floor and in the all-around. Sabo has been the only Wolfpack gymnast to compete in the all-around this season, and she has scored at least a 39.000 three times this season and has four all-around titles. On floor, Sabo has finished first in four of the last five meet, scoring a 9.9 in three straight meets at one point.
