RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State women's soccer assistant coach Kevin Long has accepted the position of head coach at Rider University, a Division 1 program in Lawrenceville, N.J. Long has been an assistant coach at NC State for the past two years.
"I am very excited for Kevin and his family. Kevin has been an invaluable part of our staff here at NC State as an assistant coach, and I'm sure he will do an incredible job taking over the reins at Rider University as their head women's soccer coach. Rider has made an excellent choice."
Long follows a long line of Wolfpack assistant coaches who have gone on to be Division 1 head women's soccer coaches, including Jill Ellis at UCLA, Anne Moore at Wyoming, Barbara Wickstrand at Minnesota and Betsy Anderson at Tulane.
