Marshville, N.C. - Leslie Stubblefield leads the competition through 18 holes at the Lady Bulldog Invitational, hosted by Wingate University at the Eagle Chase Golf Course in Marshville, N.C. The Wolfpack boasts the field's lowest team score with a 322, and is 32 strokes under the nearest challenger's score.
Stubblefield is three-over-par after the first round with a total of 75. She stands alone at the top of the leaderboard through 18 holes.
Molly Birmingham and Margaux Hennessey are tied for third with an 82. Hennessey and Stubblefield posted the lowest scores of the day on the front nine with marks of 37.
Lorraine Ballerano and Gwen Watson share seventh place, just one stroke behind Birmingham and Hennessey, at 83.
Action in the 36-hole tournament will resume at 8 a.m. Tuesday. The Wolfpack is scheduled to tee off from the 10th hole in a shot-gun fashion at 9:20 a.m.
