
Wolfpack Drops Match to Seminoles, 6-1

Tallahassee, Fla. - Jennifer Jassawalla notched her third consecutive win and second conference victory of the season in the Wolfpack's 6-1 loss to the Florida State Seminoles (12-5, 2-1) on Sunday afternoon in Tallahassee.
The Seminoles earned the first point of the day, as they were victorious in two of three doubles matches. Mihaela Moldovan and Beth Lawrence, playing at the No. 2 position, knocked of NC State's Carmen Torres and Danielle Stadelmann by a score of 8-0. In No. 1 doubles, Florida State's Amber Tantee and Daniela Gheorghe defeated Kristin Lam and Loni Worsley, 8-6. The Wolfpack (5-6, 0-4) earned a doubles win at the No. 3 position, with Jennifer Jassawalla and Myrna Bawono, downing Brooke Cordell and Christina Denny 9-8(5).
Jassawalla carried her momentum into singles play, and took a win in the number-five seed match at the dismay of the Seminole's Alina Mihailescu, 6-4, 5-7, 10-8. Jassawalla's win marked the only point of the day for the Wolfpack.
The Noles' Anca Dumitrescu ended Worlsy's six-match win streak, and ended her undefeated mark at the three spot and in the ACC.
NC State will begin a four-match homestand on Friday as it hosts the No. 63 Winthrop Eagles in a match the was cancelled because of rain. Action is slated to begin at 2 p.m. at the Cary Tennis Center. The Wolfpack will then host Old Dominion on Saturday at 10 a.m.
