Softball Set to Hold Open Tryouts

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State softball will hold open tryouts on Monday, March 24, from 3-6 p.m. The tryouts are for currently enrolled students at NC State only. The newly instated program will begin in the 2003-04 season.
"Many softball players are already here at NC State," said head coach Lisa Navas. "We just wanted to see what athletes could help us start the program. We are looking for three or four athletes and are open to all positions. I really feel we will be pleasantly surprised with the talent here at State."
The tryout will be held on Field No. 2 at the Jaycee Park on Wade Avenue. In addition to being a NC State student, those interested must have a physical prior to participating and it must have been within the last 12 months. Also, all participants must bring their own glove, bat, cleats and must be in workout attire.

Note: There will be one additional tryout in September for those transferring and for the 2003 high school graduates.
