NC State will travel to Virginia Commonwealth on Wednesday for a regional match-up. Action is slated to begin at 2 p.m. at the Thalhimer Tennis Center in Richmond, Va. The Wolfpack enters the match with a lot of confidence and a 2-0 record, and will face a big test against the No.22 VCU Rams.
The Wolfpack picked up early season wins against UNC Greensboro and Coastal Carolina. NC State blanked the Spartans, winning all singles and doubles matches on the day. The Wolfpack edged Coastal with a 4-3 win. Myrna Bawono and Kristin Lam teamed together at the #1 doubles spot and picked up a big win against the No. 48 tandem in the nation. The Wolfpack went on to win two doubles matches and grabbed the first point, before adding three singles wins to seal the victory.
Virginia Commonwealth is riding a five-match win streak, and has won 14 of its last 16 dating back to April of last season. The Rams faced two ACC teams in the NCAA tournament last year, and defeated both Florida State and current No. 1 Duke
