McCargo, Williams Land on Freshman All-America Squad

Two of NC State's young defensive linemen are being recognized for their efforts by College Football News, which has released its 2003 Freshman All-America Team. John McCargo, a 6-2, 286-pound defensive tackle from Drake's Branch, Virginia, was selected to the first team, while Mario Williams, a 6-7, 260-pound defensive end from Richlands, N.C., landed on the second team. McCargo, Williams and the rest of the Wolfpack will tangle with Kansas in the Tangerine Bowl in Orlando, Florida on Monday, Dec. 22. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
In 12 games this season, McCargo recorded 44 tackles, three sacks and placed second on the team with 13 tackles for loss.
Williams also played in 12 games, racking up 48 tackles, four sacks and 12 tackles for loss.
