
Pack Takes Ninth in Franklin Street Partners Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - NC State finished ninth at the Franklin Street Partners Invitational on Sunday after posting a three-round total of 953. Sophomore Lorraine Ballerano had the squad's lowest round on Sunday, posting a four-over par 76. Duke won the team title for the fourth consecutive year, seventh overall, while Duke's Elizabeth Jangelo and Leigh Ann Hardin tied for the top honors in the tournament.
Ballerano was two-under on the course's front nine, making the turn with a 34 on holes one through nine. Ballerano was also the Wolfpack's highest finisher in the tournament with a three-round showing of 79-79-76=234. She finished tied for 28th.
Briana Vega, Ashlee Dean and Courtney Pomeranz finished tied at 37th with a total of 243. Vega and Dean were both nine-over on the day, and Pomeranz was 10-over Sunday. Sarah Bonner finished 43rd.
The Wolfpack will break until October 17 when the J.V. squad travels to Buies Creek for the Preview Golf Tournament hosted by Campbell. The tournament will cover 54 holes in two days and be held at the Keith Hill Country Club.
