Lam Advances In ITA Regional

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - NC State's Kristin Lam picked up a win on Saturday, Oct. 25 at the ITA Southeast Regional in the round of 32. She was later defeated in the round of 16. Nandita Chandrasekar lost in the round of 32.

Lam defeated Tennessee's Ashlee Robarbs in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. Lam advanced to the round of 16 to meet Katie Matrzolf of Wake Forest, who was seeded No. 14 in the tournament. Lam was eliminated with a 6-1, 6-2 loss. Chandrasekar fell victim to UNC's Kendall Cline in two sets, losing 6-2, 6-3.

With the eliminations, the Wolfpack has completed its fall tournament play. The team will resume play in 2004 in the Georgia Bulldog Tournament, which begins on Jan. 23.
