NC State women's soccer travels to Clemson this Friday, Oct. 3, for a 7 p.m. matchup and the second of its 2003 Atlantic Coast Conference slate. The Wolfpack enters the match with a 6-3-1 (0-1-0 ACC) overall record, while the Tigers own a 6-2-1 (0-0-0 ACC) record.
Senior Lindsey Underwood and junior Erin Griswold each lead the team with 17 points each. Both forwards have tallied six goals and five assists a piece heading into the match. Freshman defender Megan Buescher has a team-high seven assists, which also leads the ACC. NC State is coming off a 4-0 win at High Point on Sunday, Sept. 28. Griswold and freshman Carol Tognetti each scored twice to help the Wolfpack to its sixth victory of the year. Freshman Megan Connors has been in the net for NC State the past six games and earned one shutout, while making 16 saves. The Pack will host Navy on Monday, Oct. 6, at 3 p.m. at for its sixth home game of the season and second at Method Road this year.
Clemson enters the match having just defeated Coastal Carolina 2-0 on Sunday, Sept. 28. Freshman defender/forward Kelly Schneider scored both goals in the win. Freshman midfielder Courtney Foster currently leads the Tigers with 13 points after a team-high five goals and three assists. Junior forward Paige Ledford leads the team with four assists and also has one goal. Senior Lauren Whitt has been the keeper for Clemson in its nine matches. The netminder has totaled 26 saves and a GAA of .39, which is second in the ACC. Head coach Todd Bramble is in his third season at the helm of the Tigers and has directed them to an overall record of 35-15-2 during that time.
