The NC State women's soccer squad will take on the 14th-ranked Tennessee Volunteers at 1:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at SAS Soccer Park. It will be the second of three scheduled games for the Wolfpack women at the facility, with the final game coming against North Carolina on Thursday, October 10th.
The Wolfpack is coming off a 2-1 victory over the Kent State Golden Flashes of the Mid-American Conference on Friday. Senior Jordan Allison and junior Katherine Warman netted goals in the victory for the Wolfpack, while senior goalkeeper Gretchen Lear made four saves in goal for NC State. The Wolfpack dominated most of the game, outshooting the visitors 21-5.
Tennessee will come to SAS on a down note, having lost on Friday to 21st-ranked Duke 2-1 in overtime. Senior Kim Patrick scored the only goal for the Lady Vols with 17 minutes left in regulation to force overtime. Goalkeeper Ellen Dean made nine saves in net. Duke ended Tennessee's season last season when the Blue Devils advanced on penalty kicks in their match in the 2001 NCAA Tournament.
Sunday will also be the first meeting between the two schools.
