Former NC State linebacker Levar Fisher, the Arizona Cardinals' second-round 2002 NFL Draft selection (49th overall), has agreed to the terms of a four-year contract. Fisher is the sixth member of the Cards' eight-player draft class to sign.
The 6-1, 228-pound Fisher, who is expected to compete for a starting position at outside linebacker for the Cards, was a four-year starter with the Wolfpack and led the nation in tackles-per-game the past two seasons. Overall, he posted a school career-record 492 tackles and added 12 quarterback sacks, 33 tackles for loss, 21 quarterback pressures, 9 forced fumbles, 6 fumble recoveries, and 15 pass deflections.
Earlier Cardinal signings were defensive end Dennis Johnson (third round, Kentucky), defensive tackle Nate Dwyer (fourth round, Kansas), wide receiver Jason McAddley (fifth round, Alabama), running back Josh Scobey (sixth round, Kansas State), and tight end Mike Banks (seventh round, Iowa State).
Fisher and his teammates report to the teams' summer training camp site at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff on Friday, July 26.
