Week 2: Wolfpackers Endure Busy Schedule

NC State's four WNBA players took part in nine games in the league's second week of the season and turned in a few superb performances.
Andrea Stinson and Summer Erb of the Charlotte Sting participated in four games and led the Sting to a 67-52 defeat of Tynesha Lewis's Houston Comets on Monday. Stinson netted 23 points in 27 minutes on eight-of-nine shooting (4-5 3-pters.), while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out four assists. Erb played 13 minutes and scored two points, while snaring five caroms.
Charlotte lost their next three games, but that didn't stop the Raleigh tandem from shining. In Thursday's 65-59 loss to the Seattle Storm, Stinson checked in with eight points in 35 minutes to go with five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Erb chipped in six points on three-of-three shooting in 26 minutes and three rebounds.
In Saturday's 69-64 loss to the Utah Starzz, Stinson saw 33 minutes of action and scored eight points, while grabbing eight rebounds. She also dished out five assists and recorded a steal and a block. Erb scored six points in 18 minutes on three-of four shooting and grabbed five boards, while getting a couple of assists.
Charlotte fell three points short to the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday (80-77), but Stinson exploded for 24 points in 34 minutes, while grabbing eight rebounds and recording an assist, a steal and a block. Erb saw 12 minutes of action and scored two points, while totaling two assists.
Lewis's Comets went 2-1 during the week, beginning with the loss to Charlotte on Monday. Lewis was held scoreless in 14 minutes, but did record two rebounds and a steal.
In a 56-45 victory over the Indiana Fever on Wednesday, Lewis posted three rebounds and two assists. The Wolfpack star did not see action in a 75-62 victory over Sacramento Monarchs on Sunday.
The Cleveland Rockers' Chasity Melvin was an ironwoman this week, playing 86 minutes in two games.
Melvin played 34 minutes in Thursday's 72-55 victory over the Detroit Shock, scoring 19 points on 7-12 shooting, while grabbing five rebounds and dishing out one assist.
In Saturday's 103-99 overtime loss to Orlando Miracle, Melvin played an incredible 52 minutes and scored 23 points on 8-13 shooting, while snaring six rebounds and recording an assist, steal and two blocks.
Charlotte will visit Lewis's Comets on Tuesday for a game at 8:30 p.m. The game can be seen locally on WAXN. On Thursday, the squad will be back at home against Indiana at 7:00 p.m., before travelling to New York for a game on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. against the Liberty. The game can be seen on ESPN2.
Cleveland also has three games this week, beginning with a game at the Miami Sol on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. They will be back home on Friday for a game with the Washington Mystics, also at 7:00 p.m., before heading off to Indiana for an 8:00 p.m. contest on Saturday.
After Tuesday's showdown with Charlotte, Lewis and the Comets will be in Washington for a 6:00 game on Thursday. On Saturday, the team will be at home to face off with the Minnesota Lynx at 7:30 p.m.
