Brown Repeats as EAGL Gymnast of the Week

Raleigh, N.C. - For the second week in a row, senior Kelli Brown (Spruce Creek, Pa.) has been named as the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Week. Her award marks the third time this season that she has been named as EAGL Gymnast of the Week. She has won the award five times in her career.
In leading the Wolfpack to a second place finish at NC State's Wolfpack Invitational, Brown tied the school record in the all-around. She finished first in the all-around with a 39.550 score, the highest all-around score in the EAGL this season. Her 39.550 tied the school record set by Christi Newton in 1996. Brown also finished first on the floor exercise with a 9.95 score and won the bars competition with a 9.925. She also took second place on vault (9.825) and finished sixth on beam with a 9.85. Brown has won the bars competition in the last three meets as well as five of seven this season.
No. 23 NC State will host its final home meet of the 2002 season this Friday at 7:00 p.m. The Wolfpack will host Ball State, Western Michigan, and Yale in that meet.
