
Inge Named CBA Rookie of the Year

Boise, Idaho (March 27, 2002)- The Continental Basketball Association has announced that Rockford Lightning forward Kenny Inge was named 2002 Rookie of the Year and to the CBA All-Rookie Team. Also earning All-Rookie honors were Dakota Wizards center Ken Johnson, Saskatchewan Hawks forward Sean Lampley, Flint Fuze guard DeSean Hadley and Dakota forward Shawn Daniels.
Inge, a 6-8 product of NC State ('01), joined the team on Dec. 20 after having spent last fall with Zalgiris of the Lithuanian Basketball League. He posted 9.3 points and 5.6 rebounds primarily off the bench for the Lightning. During the period of Feb. 17-23 he averaged 20.3 points on 28-50 shooting from the field (.560) and 10 rebounds in leading the Lightning to a 3-1 mark and earning Player of the Week honors. In a 93-67 victory over Grand Rapids on Feb. 17, the 23-year-old posted a game high 30 points to go along with his 10 rebounds.
