Wolfpack Downed By Jacket Men, 6-1
Raleigh, N.C.--The NC State men's tennis squad dropped a 6-1 decision to the 50th-ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Saturday at the Wolfpack Tennis Complex. Georgia Tech improves to 9-7 overall (2-2 ACC) with the victory, while the Wolfpack dropped to 4-12 overall (0-2 ACC).
Following an 8-5 victory at No. 1 doubles by Matt Lucas and Reinaldo Valor, the Wolfpack nearly captured the doubles point when Ryan Boward and Michael Carducci attained match point against Tech's Fabio Campos and Joao Menano at No. 3. However, the Wolfpack duo fell just short, falling 8-5 in the tie-breaker.
Caducci would later exact some revenge on Menano with a three set victory (1-6, 6-0, 6-2) at No. 3 singles.
