NC State Set to Host NCAA East Regional

NC State University will host the 2002 NCAA Women's East Regional, to be held in Raleigh at the Entertainment and Sports Arena on Saturday, March 23 and Monday, the 25th.
Duke, which is the number one seed in the east regional, hosted first and second round games and made it to the east regional with a 95-48 first round win over Norfolk State and a 76-66 second round win over TCU. Duke's opponent on Saturday will be the Longhorns of Texas. Gametime for that matchup is 2:00 p.m.
Texas made it to the regional as a four seed, defeating Wisconsin-Green Bay 60-55 in the first round and California-Santa Barbara 76-60 in the second round.
Drake is the lowest seeded team thus far to make it to either of the four regionals. The Bulldogs, who are seeded seventh, knocked off Syracuse 87-69 in the opening round, then upset host Baylor, the second seed, 76-72 in the second round.
The final spot has been filled by South Carolina. The Bulldogs and Gamecocks will square off in Saturday's first regional semifinal contest at 11:30 a.m.
Saturday's winners will advance to the East Regional Final, to be played Monday night at 7:00 p.m. The the survivor of that contest will earn a berth to the NCAA Women's Final Four held in San Antonio, TX
