No. 27 Gamecocks Too Much For Wolfpack

Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State women's tennis team lost to South Carolina Saturday afternoon 7-0 at the Wolfpack Tennis Complex. With the loss, NC State falls below .500 to 3-4, while the Gamecocks improve to 6-1. South Carolina is ranked No. 27 in the Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings released Feb. 20.
USC earned the doubles point with wins in all three sets. NC State managed to keep things close early on, but fell 8-6, 8-6 and 8-5 at the No. 1, 2 and 3 spots respectively.
In singles, the Gamecocks defeated the Wolfpack in straight sets in six matches.
The Pack will return to the courts tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. when visiting No. 66 Princeton (1-1) comes to Raleigh.
