Florida State Downs NC State Volleyball in Three

Four players finished with double digit kills to lead Florida State over NC State in volleyball action Friday night at Reynolds Coliseum by the scores of 30-24, 30-18, 30-19.
Sophomore middle blocker Maya Mapp led the way for the Wolfpack, finishing with a team-high eight kills and a .412 attack percentage, while senior Rebecca Anderson and sophomores Melanie Rowe and Sarah Ensminger added six kills a piece. Rowe also recorded a team-best 10 digs. Setter Lindi Sheppard finished the evening with 25 assists, while fellow setter Crystal Shannon tacked on another seven to go along with five digs.
Senior outside hitter Alex Sevillano recorded a match-high 16 kills to go with her 12 digs for the Seminoles, while fellow seniors Erica Bunch, Dawn Hough and Kristin Frye finished with 14, 12 and 10 kills respectively. Libero Kameelah Omar saw action in games two and three, tallying 12 digs, while setter Jennifer Anderson dished out a match-high 55 assists on the night.
NC State now falls to 3-30, 0-15 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, while Florida State advances to 19-10, 10-5 in conference play. NC State will finish out the 2002 season at Reynolds Coliseum Saturday night against Virginia. Match time is set for 7 p.m. and Saturday's match will be Senior Night for the Wolfpack's lone senior Rebecca Anderson.
