Unbeaten NC State, which improved to 9-0 for the first time in school history by beating Clemson on Thursday night, moved up one spot to No. 8 in this week's new ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. The Pack also inched up to 10th in the new AP Poll after being ranked 12th last week. The Wolfpack will be looking to lock up its first 10-win season when it hosts Georgia Tech in a 3:30 ABC game next Saturday at Carter-Finley Stadium.
The spot in the Coaches Poll marks NC State's highest ranking since the 1974 squad hit No. 8 in the AP poll on September 30, 1974.
