Men's Tennis Competes At ITA Region II Championship

Chapel Hill, NC - Coach Jon Choboy's men's tennis team travels to Chapel Hill to compete in the Omni Hotels ITA Region II Championships. Three Wolfpack players competed in qualifying this afternoon. Rehman Esmail faired the best for the Wolfpack in singles qualifying as he nearly forces a tie breaking third set before falling 7-5 in the second. He dropped the first set 6-1. Will Shaw lost 3-6, 2-6 to Chris Archer, and Jon Davis fell 0-6 in straight sets. R.J. Murray was the lone seeded Wolfpack player, as he will compete against the 16th seeded Zoltan Csanadi on Friday.
The doubles pairing of R.J. Murray and John Davis will play at 4:00pm Friday afternoon. The duo has found success on the coursts as partners, winning the Doubles Flight A Consolation bracket at the UVA Fall Invitational and also picking up the win at the USC Fall Invitational with an A-2 doubles title.
