Unbeaten NC State (8-0), which matched the best start in school history by edging Duke on Saturday, has inched up one spot in the latest ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. The Wolfpack comes in at No. 9 this week, its highest ranking since a squad coached by Lou Holtz rose to 8th in the AP Poll on September 30, 1974.
NC State will try to improve to 9-0 for the first time in school history when it travels to Clemson for a nationally televised contest this Thursday night.
