Former NC State golfer Mark Slawter drained a 10-foot eagle putt on the first hole of sudden death on Sunday to claim victory in the Canadian Tour's Eagle Creek Classic.
Slawter, 27, defeated close friend and fellow former NC State golfer Chris Greenwood to claim his first win on the Canadian circuit. The two players went to extra holes after setting a new tournament record of 22-under par for the regulation 72-holes.
Slawter, who shot 64-66-68-68, now ranks third on the tour's Order of Merit. Should he maintain that position, he will be exempted for the upcoming Canadian Open.
