The NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers are showing a lot of faith in two NC State products. Just last week, the club rewarded head coach Bill Cowher with a three-year contract extension.
On Thursday, it was revealed that the Steelers had given cornerback Dewayne Washington a five-year extension worth $20 million, including a $5.25 million signing bonus.
Washington, a native of Durham, played for the Pack between 1990-93. He was named second team All-ACC in his senior year after leading NC State with four interceptions.
Cowher, who played linebacker at State in the late 70's, still holds the school record for tackles in a season with 195 in 1978.
