On a day when the WNBA's Charlotte Sting suffered another excruciating defeat, guard Andrea Stinson put together yet another standout performance. In fact, the former NC State star has been one of the few bright spots for The Sting, which dropped its seventh straight game with an 85-82 overtime loss to Sacramento on Sunday.
Stinson did everything she could to keep Charlotte in the game by scoring 24 points and grabbing nine rebounds. She also added four assists and four steals in a terrific all-around effort. For the season, Stinson is sixth on the league's scoring list with average of 16.4 points per game.
And while Andrea Stinson is playing well for a losing team, another former Wolfpack women's star is putting up good numbers for one of the WNBA's hottest teams. Chasity Melvin tallied 11 points and hauled down six rebounds on Sunday to lead Cleveland past Miami 54-35. The Rockers (8-3) have now won seven of their last eight games.
