Wolfpack Athletes Nominated For Conference Honors

NC State wrestler Zach Breitenbach and Wolfpack women's basketball player Tynesha Lewis have been nominated for ACC Male and Female Athlete of the Year honors. The winners, as voted on by the Atlantic Coast Sports Writers Association, will be named at the league's annual Football Kickoff the third week of July.
On the night of March 3, Breitenbach clinched the Atlantic Coast Conference team wrestling championship for NC State with an 8-2 victory over North Carolina's Clint Osborne. The championship clinching victory was Breitenbach's 17th win in a row, and his 19th win in his last 20 matches.
In his senior season, Breitenbach posted a 26-6 record and won the individual conference championship at 197 pounds. The Cary N.C. native was named ACC Wrestler of the Week twice during a three-week span.
Breitenbach finished his career with a 67-36 record with four pins.
In her senior season with the NC State women's basketball team, guard Tynesha Lewis led the Pack to its seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and a 22-11 record. The senior from Macclesfield, N.C. earned second team All-ACC honors and was the only player in the league to be selected ACC Player of the Week more than once.
The 5-10 guard recorded the first triple-double in school history when she tallied 10 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists against Florida State on January 29. She followed up that feat with a 25-point, 10-rebound, 10-assist performance on February 21 against North Carolina. The Houston Comets selected Lewis in the second round of the WNBA draft held in April.
