NC State Earns NCAA Golf Bid

INDIANAPOLIS -- The NCAA Division I Men's Golf Committee has selected the teams and individuals that will participate in the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships.
The championships will be conducted May 30 to June 2 at the Duke University Golf Club in Durham, North Carolina. Duke University is the host institution for this year's championships.
Three regional tournaments, encompassing the current nine districts, will be conducted May 17-19. A total of 421 participants have been selected for the regional competition with 156 of these players advancing to the championships finals.
Those conferences receiving automatic qualification into the 2001 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships are: America East Conference, Atlantic Coast Conference, Atlantic 10 Conference, Big East Conference, Big Sky Conference, Big South Conference, Big Ten Conference, Big 12 Conference, Big West Conference, Colonial Athletic Association, Conference USA, Ivy Group, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, Mid-American Conference, Mid-Continent Conference, Midwestern Collegiate Conference, Missouri Valley Conference, Mountain West Conference, Northeast Conference, Ohio Valley Conference, Pacific-10 Conference, Patriot League, Southeastern Conference, Southern Conference, Southland Conference, Southwestern Athletic Conference, Sun Belt Conference, Trans America Athletic Conference, West Coast Conference and Western Athletic Conference.
EAST REGIONAL
The East regional will be played May 17-19 at the Golden Horseshoe
Golf Club in Williamsburg, Virginia, hosted by Virginia Commonwealth University.
NC State, ranked 7th in the country, will be one of 27 teams vying for
the East regional crown. The Wolfpack won the East regional title in
1996.
