NC State Fails to Make Cut at NCAA Golf Tournament

Durham, N.C. - NC State's men's golf team shot a disappointing 13-over-par 301 in the second round of the NCAA Men's Golf Championships and failed to make the cut. The field of 30 teams is cut to 15 for the final two rounds. The Wolfpack's two-day total of 599 (+23) landed the squad in the 27th spot on the leaderboard.
Senior David Sanchez was the Wolfpack's top finisher, posting a 36-hole score of 146 to place in a tie for 37th. Fellow senior Mark Tullo carded a 149, Jason Moon and Chris Mundorf posted 152, followed by Garth Mulroy with a 156.
Arizona scored a one-over-par 289 in the second round, but still hold the lead with a seven-under 574. Florida stands in second at 574 followed by Wake Forest at 576. Ricky Barnes of Arizona leads the race for the individual title with an 11-under-par 133 after 36 holes. Four players are tied for second place, five shots off the lead with a 138.
