Moody Invited to USA Basketball National Team Trials

Colorado Springs, CO - NC State sophomore Carisse Moody has been invited to participate in the USA Basketball National Team Trials. She will join 35 other collegiate stars at the trials on May 18-21 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. The USA Basketball women's collegiate committee will select finalists for the 12-member 2001 USA Women's World University Games team following the trials. The World University Games will be held Aug. 22 - Sept. 1 in Beijing, China.
Moody moved into the starting center's role early in her sophomore season at NC State and led the team with averages of 14.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. She was tabbed an honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press as well as earning All-ACC second team honors. Moody was named to the ACC All-Tournament first team after leading the Wolfpack to the championship game with averages of 17.3 points and 10 rebounds in the three tournament games.
