NC State Finishes Second at NCAA East Regional

Williamsburg, NC - NC State's men's golf team shot a final round seven-under-par 281 and finished in second place at the NCAA East Regional championships held at the Golden Horseshoe Course in Williamsburg, Va. The Wolfpack's three-day total of 836 was eight shots behind tournament champion East Tennessee State. NC State will advance to the NCAA Championships to be held at Duke University May 30-June 2.
Chris Mundorf led NC State and finished in a tie for third place in the individual standings, only three shots off the lead. The senior from Greensboro, fired three consecutive rounds of 68 for a three-day total of 204. Teammates Garth Mulroy and Mark Tullo tied for 17th place with a 54-hole score of 211. Sophomore Jason Moon was one shot back at 212, followed by David Sanchez at 215. All five Wolfpack golfers finished the event under par.
Camilo Villegas of the University of Florida led the entire tournament and claimed individual medalist honors. He fired a final round 67 for a three-day total of 201.
