Men's Tennis Falls to Virginia, 5-2

Raleigh, N.C. -- The NC State men’s tennis team dropped their fifth conference match of the season to Virginia 5-2 at the Wolfpack Tennis Center Sunday afternoon. The Wolfpack now stands at 6-16 (1-5 ACC) on the season, while the Cavaliers, ranked 49th nationally, move to 10-5 overall and 3-4 in conference action.
For the Wolfpack, Reinaldo Valor captured a win at #4 singles by beating Virginia’s Michael Duquette in a three-set tussle 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. Brad Kilgore took the other singles match for NC State at the #6 slot, topping the Cavaliers’ Jason Romesburg 6-4, 6-2.
In doubles, the tandem of Kilgore and John Davis defeated Duquette and Tommy Croker 8-6 at #2.
The Wolfpack will look to right its ship next Friday at Clemson (4-16, 1-4 ACC) at 1:00.
