Wolfpack Men?s Tennis Drops ACC Tourney Opener, 4-0

The Tigers won the doubles point as Josh Goffi and Marko Gojanovic downed the Wolfpack?s No. 2 doubles team of Brad Kilgore and John Davis 8-5. The No. 3 doubles tandem Eric Cohn and Lee Taylor Walker of Clemson defeated Ryan Boward and Matt Lucas 8-5.
The singles was competition was hotly contested throughout with four of the six matches going to three sets. With the Wolfpack already facing a 3-0 deficit, NC State?s Reinaldo Valor and Boward fought off countless match points to keep the Wolfpack in the match while Eric Jackson and Matt Lucas began to take the advantage on their opponents at No. 1 and No. 2. However, Boward finally fell to the Tigers? Micah Thompson 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 to clinch the match.
Clemson improves its record to 6-19, while NC State finishes the season 6-19 for 2001.?
