NC State Men's Golf Finishes Second

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The eighth-ranked NC State men's golf squad finished in a tie for first Sunday at theCleveland Golf/Augusta State Invitational. The Wolfpack, with a final mark of 856 (-8), made a valiant effort to topple host Augusta State in the playoff, but fell just short by one stroke.
The tandem of Chris Mundorf and Ross Wellington led the Wolfpack men with a score of 214 (-2) for the three rounds to finish in a tie for 10th overall. Mundorf posted a 74 on Sunday, while Wellington fired a 72.
Garth Mulroy was the third NC State finisher of the afternoon with a 70 on Sunday for a cumulative mark of 216 (E) and took a tie for 16th overall in the competition.
David Sanchez was the fourth Wolfpack finisher in the competition with a score of 218 (+2) for the tournament. The senior from Charlotte, NC found himself in a tie for 25th individually after a 79 on Sunday.
Mark Tullo rounded out the field for NC State, firing a 77 on Sunday to take a tie for 30th and a tourney mark of 220 (+4).
NC State's next match will be at The Intercollegiate at Finley Golf Club in Chapel Hill, NC on April 14th and 15th.
