NC State Women's Tennis Knocks Off Virginia Tech

NC State took the opening doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. At No. 2, NC State freshman Jennifer Jassawalla teamed with freshman Kristin Lam to pick up the 8-4 victory over Kristin Lanio and Michele Martaus of Virginia Tech. Pack junior Kristen Nicholls and sophomore Myrna Bawono won 8-6 over the Hokies Bridget Bruner and Ines Khelifi at the No. 3 spot.
In singles action, the Wolfpack p icked up wins at No. 1, No. 4, and No. 5. At No. 1 Lam's 6-2, 7-5 win over Kristen Stubbs of Virginia Tech, 6-2, 7-5, proved to be the deciding match that gave the Pack 4-3 win. Jasswalla defeated Bruner, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 5, while Nicholls defeated M ar taus, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4.
The women's tennis squad will return to action on Friday, April 6th when they host the No. 2 ranked Duke Blue Devils in an ACC match that was scheduled for March 7th, but was postponed due to the weather.
