NC State's Lewis Earns East Regional Honors

Pittsburgh, PA -- NC State senior Tynesha Lewis was named to the All-East Regional team for her performance against top-ranked Connecticut on Saturday. Playing in her final game in a Wolfpack jersey, the 5-10 point guard posted team highs of 20 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals in a 72-58 loss to UConn in the East Region semifinal game.
It marks the second time in Lewis' career that she earned All-East Regional honors, also receiving the honor in 1998 after helping NC State win the East Region championship. Lewis was joined on the 2001 East Regional team by MVP Diana Taurasi (Connecticut), Sue Bird (Connecticut), Takeisha Lewis (Louisiana Tech) and Swin Cash (Connecticut).
Lewis finished her career ranked in the top 15 in the NC State record books in numerous categories including scoring (8th - 1,621), rebounds (9th - 650), assists (11th * 345), steals (14th * 161) and blocked shots (13th * 46).
