Tallying singles wins for the Wolfpack was Eric Jackson, a 2000 All-ACC honoree, at #1 singles with a 0-6, 6-4, 6-2 win over Pablo Perez Gras.
Third-seeded Michael Carducci also picked up a win for NC State, defeating Carl Lumsden 6-4, 6-4.
Matt Lucas, the Wolfpack’s second-seed, was forced to an injury default in his match due to a sprained ankle. Lucas is expected to be ready for action, however, against conference foe Georgia Tech on Sunday.
