#24 Wolfpack Women Travel to #17 Clemson

The Wolfpack: NC State is coming off back-to-back wins in two of its best performances of the season, snapping a four-game losing streak. After struggling to a disappointing 2-6 mark in the first half of the conference slate, the Wolfpack Women are 2-0 to start the second half of the ACC season.
The NC State defense is ranked eighth in the nation in scoring defense (56.9). NC State is led by the inside-outside combination of Carisse Moody (14.4 ppg, 6.9 rpg) and Tynesha Lewis (13.4 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 2.9 apg).
The Opponent: Clemson has suffered two consecutive losses in ACC play. The Tigers, who had been scoring 75 points per game, averaged only 52 points in the back-to-back losses. Sophomore guard Krissy Floyd leads Clemson with 17.3 points per outing. Erin Batth is the Tigers' force in the paint, averaging 13.5 points and 8.8 rebounds.
Today's Matchup: This is a key conference matchup as Clemson is looking to hold on to its second place spot in the ACC standings and NC State is looking to continue its winning streak and get back in the conference race. Today is NC State's fifth television appearance of the season. The Pack hold a 2-2 mark in TV games this year. The contest will be televised live on Home Team Sports and other regional sports networks. Beth Mowins will handle play-by-play duties with Debbie Antonelli serving as color analyst.

The Series: This will be the 58th meeting between these two teams, with NC State holding a 35-22 advantage in the series. However, Clemson leads 13-11 in games played in Littlejohn Coliseum. The Tigers have won the last five matchups played on their homecourt and nine of the last 10 in Clemson. NC State's last win at Littlejohn was on Feb. 23, 1995 when the Wolfpack came away with a 68-55 victory.
Last Meeting: Clemson won the first matchup of the season between these teams, 67-52 in Raleigh. It is the Wolfpack's largest margin of defeat this season. Both teams had poor shooting nights, but the Lady Tigers outscored NC State 38-10 on the free throw line. Clemson placed four players in double figures led by Krystal Scott and Chrissy Floyd who scored 17 apiece. Tynesha Lewis was NC State's lone player in double figures with 12 points.
The Coaches: Head Coach Kay Yow, in her 26th season on the Wolfpack bench, recently reached the 600th career win milestone. She has a 545-231 (.702) record at NC State and a 602-250 (.706) overall collegiate coaching mark. One of the most successful coaches in the country, she currently ranks fifth in career wins.
Jim Davis owns a 293-134 (.686) record in his 14th season on the Clemson sideline.
Last Time Out: NC State ousted #25 Virginia 71-56 on Thursday night in Reynolds Coliseum. Ivy Gardner led the Wolfpack with 16 points and Carisse Moody posted her fifth double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Clemson was upset by Maryland 68-62 Thursday night in Littlejohn Coliseum. Chrissy Floyd paced the Lady Tigers with 18 points. Erin Batth contributed 10 points and 10 rebounds.
