Greensboro, N.C.--Junior Adrienne Barnes, a Clemmons, N.C. native, was named to the 2001 All-ACC Women's Soccer second-team, the league announced Wednesday. This marks the second consecutive season that a Wolfpack player has achieved the honor, with Katherine Warman (Coquitlam, British Columbia) taking second-team honors last season.
Barnes led NC State in scoring this season with 6 goals and 1 assist for 13 points, which included a team-leading three game-winning goals.
Barnes made an immediate impact for head coach Laura Kerrigan's squad, netting two goals her first career game against High Point in a 3-1 NC State romp.
The Wolfpack will face top-ranked North Carolina in the first round of the ACC Tournament on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in Winston-Salem, N.C. The winner face the winner of the Wake Forest-Clemson match at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
