The NC State women's basketball team received contributions from the entire team, as it easily handled the Perik Jumpers 104-63 in exhibition play in Reynolds Coliseum.
"Tonight there were a lot of good things and things we need to work on," said NC State head coach Kay Yow. "We did an outstanding job working the boards."
Leading the Wolfpack was Kaayla Chones who was one of five NC State players who ended with double figures in scoring on the night. Chones dominated the glass and finished with a game high 27 points and 17 rebounds, giving her the only double-double for the game.
"I'm glad to see Kaayla with a night like this," beamed Yow. "I would say she is back and ready to go."
Also stepping up for the Wolfpack was Carisse Moody, who tallied up 18 points and grabbed four boards. Adeola Olanrewaju and rookie Rachel Stockdale both finished with 13 points apiece. Amy Simpson added 10 points.
State not only dominated in the post, outrebounding the Jumpers 55- 26, but it also shot better from behind the arc, 31.3 percent to 25 percent and from the free throw line 92.9 to 88.9.
Brandi Green led the Jumpers with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Daphne Berends and Marloes Roetgerink added 12 and 11 points respectively.
"I was glad to see the play of our freshmen as well. We need to find that combination of seven or eight players that will carry us and play the bulk of the minutes."
The Wolfpack will host its final exhibition game of the season on Sunday at 2 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum versus Remus Austria Power Basket.
