Raleigh, N.C. -- NC State's Terah James injured her left knee during a practice session on Wednesday afternoon in Reynolds Coliseum. The 5-7 point guard has been diagnosed with a tear to her ACL and meniscus. She will be out of action for two to three weeks and her status will be re-evaluated at that time.
James was expected to regain her starting position at point guard after redshirting the 2000-01 season following reconstructive knee surgery on her right knee. She started all 29 games her rookie season at point guard and averaged 7.3 points and 3.9 assists. The Rivera Beach, Fla. native played her freshman season with a partially-torn ACL in her right knee before undergoing reconstructive surgery at the end of that season.
