Men's Golf Seventh After Nelson First Round

Stanford, CA -- NC State men's golf team posted an even round 284 in the first round of The Nelson Invitational at Stanford, Calif. to stand in seventh place after the first day of the three day tournament. Florida Southern fired a five-under par 279 to hold a one shot lead over Washington, Purdue and host Stanford.
Jason Moon fired a four-under par 67 to lead the Wolfpack. The junior from Australia currently stands in a tie for second place on the individual leaderboard. Justin Walters also completed the first round under par with a 70 and is tied for 12th.
Lee Williamson of Purdue carded a 66 to sit atop the leaderboard, only one shot ahead of Moon and Steve Sokol of Florida Southern.
The tournament will continue throughout the weekend, with a second round on Saturday and final 18-hole round on Sunday.
