Lorenzo Charles, whose name will forever be linked with NC State basketball
lore, has been hired as the new head coach of the FM (Fargo) Beez of the
International Basketball Association.
The former Wolfpack forward takes over for John Jordan who produced a 7-10 record this season.
Charles, a native of Brooklyn, made the slam dunk heard around the world when his stick back at the horn beat Houston in the 1983 National Championship game. Once his college career came to an end, Charles had a nomadic professional career that took him to 11 different countries. He also spent two seasons with the NBA's Atlanta Hawks.
Charles will make his Beez debut on Saturday, January 6.
