Gymnastics Opens Season

Junior Kelli Brown led the way for the Pack, as she posted new person-highs on the beam and in the all-around. Brown finished second in the all-around with a score of 39.025, and was fourth on beam with a 9.8. Brown also won the floor competition with a score of 9.925, and finished in a tie for second on bars with a 9.775.
Senior Monica Berry captured the title on beam with a score of 9.85. Tying for fourth on bars were the Pack's Kara Charles and Angie Welch, each notching a score of 9.75. Sophomore Adina Stock also added a fourth place finish, with hers on floor (9.85).
Sophomore Cara Dougherty and freshman Alison Bundy both saw there first collegiate action this afternoon. Dougherty, who sat out last season with a back injury, registered a 12th place finish on floor (9.75) and a 22nd place finish on bars (8.775). Bundy competed on three events in her first meet. She was the Pack's top finisher on vault with a 9.725 for third, and also earned a fourth place finish on floor with a 9.85 and was 15th on beam with a 9.55 score.
The Pack was forced into the meet without the services of three gymnasts. Junior Aimee Panton broke her arm last week in practice and will miss the rest of the season. Freshman Cheryl Potacco tore her ACL in warm-ups and will miss this season. Senior Amy Langendorf injured her knee during the meet, and only competed on vault.
