Women's Tennis Completes Play At Wyndham Garden Wolfpack Invitational

RALEIGH, NC (Sept. 18) - The tennis team completed play at the Wyndham Garden Wolfpack Invitational on Sept. 17 at the NC State Tennis Complex. NC State finished with three third place finishes in singles and a third place finish in doubles.
In singles action, Wolfpack freshman Jennifer Jassawalla finished third in Flight A after defeating Forbes Thompson of Davidson in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. NC State freshman Jackie Leskovar finished third in Flight B after knocking off sophomore teammate Loni Worsley, 6-4, 6-4. Sophomore Myrna Bawano rounded out the top finishes for the Wolfpack by taking third in Flight C. She defeated Paulina Sierpinsky of East Carolina in three sets, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3.
In doubles action, the duo of Bawano and freshman Kristen Lam finished third in Flight A doubles. The had a tough match against Alice Sukner and Sheela Cabiling of Marshall, but managed to pull out the win 9-8(5).
The Wolfpack women's tennis team will be in action again on Sept. 22-24 when they travel to the University of Maryland for the Maryland Invitational.
