Ex-Pack Star Thomas Suffers Knee Injury
7/27/2000 12:00:00 AM | Football
Indianapolis Colts defensive end Mark Thomas will likely miss up to two weeks of training camp with a knee injury. The former NC State standout sprained the medial collateral ligament in his right knee during a full contact drill earlier this week.
"The bad news is he hurt his knee," Colts coach Jim Mora told the Indianapolis Star. "The good news is it could have been worse. He could have tore an (anterior cruciate ligament)."
The injury will not requite surgery.
The 6'5, 265 pound Thomas is in his third season with the Colts. As a senior at NC State in 1991, he was a first team All-ACC performer after recording 46 tackles, 3 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries and three sacks.
