The July 10 WNBA game between Charlotte and Cleveland turned into an NC
State women's basketball reunion, but the Wolfpacker who stood out the most
was Chasity Melvin.
The 6'3 Melvin used a combination of quickness and power, scoring 21 points to lead the Rockers over the Sting, 72-65. Melvin connected on 6-of-8 field goal attempts and 9-of-12 from the free throw line.
Charlotte, which fell to 3-16 on the season, was led by former NC State standout Rhonda Mapp, who tallied 17 points and 12 rebounds. Ex State players Andrea Stinson and Summer Erb also saw minutes for the Sting. Stinson scored four points while Erb had two.
