Los Angeles, CA (June 18) - Former NC State All-America Summer Erb played the best game of her short pro career on June 18, contributing 21 points and eight rebounds in the Charlotte Sting's 70-62 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks. The 6-6 center spent most of her 21 minutes on the floor matched up with WNBA all-star Lisa Leslie who is also the starting center for the USA Olympic Team.
Erb hit seven of 11 field goals and seven of nine free throw attempts. Her team-high 21 points was a career high in a Sting uniform. In addition to her career-best eight rebounds, she also added a blocked shot.
She has seen limited action early in the season as she continues to rehab her left foot that suffered three broken bones in February while playing at NC State. She is averaging 5.2 points and 2.3 rebounds while playing just over 12 minutes per outing.
The Sting have struggled to a 1-8 record with a limited roster due to injuries and a brutal five-game road trip.
