Former Wolfpack Stars Are Flourishing In The WNBA
6/14/2000 12:00:00 AM | Women's Basketball
The WNBA season is very young, but already a couple of former NC State
standouts are distinguishing themselves. Andrea Stinson and Rhonda Mapp,
both of the Charlotte Sting, are off to quick starts this summer.
That's especially true in the case of Stinson, who is currently fifth in the league in scoring (18.7 ppg) and first in steals (3.50 pg). Stinson already has 21 thefts in just six games this season.
Mapp, who anchors Charlotte's front line, is currently ranked 14th in scoring, averaging 15.5 points per contest.
Stinson and Mapp each scored 21-points as Charlotte picked up its first win of the season, a 78-67 victory over Detroit, on Monday night, June 12.
