NC State Receives Bid to NCAA Golf Regionals

RALEIGH, NC (May 9) - For the third consecutive season, the NC State men's golf team has received a bid to the NCAA East Regional. This year's tournament will be held May 18-20 at Glen Maura National in Moosic, Pa. The top 11 teams in the NCAA East Regional will advance to the NCAA Championships held May 31-June 2 at the Grand National Golf Club in Auburn, Ala.
The Wolfpack have earned a bid to the NCAA East Regional nine times since the tournament began in 1989. NC State has one East Regional title to its credit, the 1996 championship.
NC State, currently ranked 15th in the nation, have finished in the top three in every tournament this spring. The Wolfpack are led by co-captains Carl Pettersson and Chris Mundorf who are both coming off top-10 finishes at the ACC Championships. The ACC, considered one of the top golf conferences in the country, had seven teams receive NCAA bids.
